SIGGRAPH 1993

Alan Barr is a Professor of Computer Science and faculty member in the Computation and Neural Systems department at the California Institute of Technology. He received his PhD in Mathematics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1983, joining the Caltech faculty shortly thereafter. In 1988, he received the SIGGRAPH Achievement award for his work in computer graphics modeling, particularly for physically based and teleological modeling.

Alan H. Barr is an assistant professor in the Computer Science Department at the California Institute of Technology. He received his doctorate in mathematics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and has been a senior research scientist at Raster Technologies, Inc. His primary research interests are modeling techniques and the generic mathematical and computational machinery involved in both simulation of 3-D dynamic response and graphic appearance of natural phenomenon.
