What is the money used for?
Choice 1: Sponsor the Development of the SIGGRAPH Archives
- Hiring students to help with scanning documents, cataloging, and entering information into the SIGGRAPH archives. Students will also do imaging and design work to clean up old scans, design icons, develop UI/UX elements, and create PDFs. We have thousands of documents that need scanning and cleanup. It will take hundreds of hours just to add the long history of exhibitors at the SIGGRAPH conference to the archives.
- Hiring student programmers to develop the online SIGGRAPH archives. We need export and visualization code written and lots of UI elements to be added.
- Travel costs to send archivists to SIGGRAPH to document and collect materials.
- Video editing of interviews of computer graphics pioneers.
- Other miscellaneous expenses, including but not limited to, purchasing scanners, shipping, etc.
Choice 2: Sponsor the SIGGRAPH 50th Conference Celebration in the summer of 2023
- Equipment rental and setup fees for the SIGGRAPH 50th conference celebration to be held in LA in 2023. We plan to have an immersive time tunnel and other exciting displays and events.
- Shipping fees to bring the SIGGRAPH physical archive to LA for the 50th conference celebration.
- Sending students to the SIGGRAPH conference to document the 50th celebration and the conference activities for the archives.
What you will get in return:
- Your logo and link to your site will be featured on the archive website (Choice 1)
- Your logo will be featured at the SIGGRAPH 2023 50th Conference Celebration venue.
Tax Deductions
Donations will be directed to the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and will be routed to the SIGGRAPH History Committee to use to develop the ACM SIGGRAPH History Archives. ACM is a 501 (c)(3). Discuss possible tax deductions with your tax consultant.
