SIGGRAPH 2024

Denis Zorin is a Silver Professor of computer science and mathematics and the chair of the computer science department at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences. Prior to joining Courant, he was a postdoc at Stanford University, and completed his Ph.D. thesis at California Institute of Technology. Denis’ primary interests span the domains of geometric modeling, geometry processing, and scientific computing. His main contributions are in the theory and practical algorithms for subdivision surfaces, efficient algorithms for deformation, parameterization, meshing, computational methods for integral equations, and optimization-based techniques for computational fabrication. His awards include ACM Fellow, SIGGRAPH Computer Graphics Achievement Award, SIGGRAPH Academy membership, ACM Gordon Bell Prize, Sloan Foundation Fellowship, NSF Career award, and several IBM Partnership awards. He served on many program committees and editorial boards.

SIGGRAPH 1999

Denis Zorin is an assistant professor at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, New York University. He received a BS degree from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, an MS degree in Mathematics from Ohio State University and a PhD in Computer Science from the California Institute of Technology. In 1997-98, he was a research associate at the Computer Science Department of Stanford University. His research interests include multiresolution modeling, the theory of subdivision, and applications of subdivision surfaces in Computer Graphics. He is also interested in perceptually-based computer graphics algorithms. He has published several papers in SIGGRAPH proceedings.
