Zoran Popovic is currently a Ph.D. student in Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University. His research interests include computer animation, computer graphics, nonlinearly constrained optimization, motion planning and biomechanics. He has presented a paper on motion warping at SIGGRAPH ‘95. His Ph.D. thesis focuses on transformation and synthesis of motion with spacetime optimization methods that preserve dynamic integrity of motion. In the summer of 1996, while at UC Berkeley, he used his motion analysis algorithms to demonstrate certain optimality claims in biomechanics. Recently he worked on realistic modeling of human locomotion as a primary investigator at Justsystem Pittsburgh Research Center. Prior to attending Carnegie Mellon, he graduated with honors from Brown University, also in computer science. He has also held positions at Sun Microsystems.
