Marcos Fajardo is the founder of Solid Angle, where he leads the research and development team working on the Arnold renderer. Previously he was a visiting software architect at Sony Pictures Imageworks, a visiting researcher at USC Institute for Creative Technologies, and a consultant at various CG studios around the world. He studied Computer Science at University of Malaga, Spain. He is a frequent speaker at SIGGRAPH, FMX and EGSR and recently received an Academy Award for the design and implementation of the Arnold renderer. His favorite sushi is engawa.

Marcos is Software Architect at Madrid-based Solid Angle SL, where he leads the development of the Arnold Renderer, an unbiased path tracer designed for animation and visual effects. For years Arnold was co-developed with Sony Pictures Imageworks? Rendering Team in Los Angeles, where it was used as both primary and utility renderer in a dozen films like Monster House, Spider Man 3, Watchmen, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, 2012 and Alice in Wonderland. Prior to that, Marcos was a visiting researcher under the supervision of Dr. Paul Debevec at USC?s Institute for Creative Technologies and consulted at various CG studios around the world.??
