    Steve Cunningham: Steve Cunningham is a former professor of computer science at CSU Stanislaus, Noyce Visiting Professor at Grinnnell College, and National Science Foundation Program Officer. Steve served ACM SIGGRAPH as Chair of the Education Committee, Director for Publications, and President, and served Eurographics as chair of the Education Board. Steve was Gemperle Distinguished Professor at Stanislaus, is a Eurographics Fellow, and received the SIGGRAPH Distinguished Service Award. Steve is the author of the textbook  Computer Graphics: Programming in OpenGL for Visual Communication and co- author with Mike Bailey of the forthcoming text Computer Graphics Shaders:  Theory and Practice.

    Steve Cunningham is a Professor of Computer Science at California State University Stanislaus. His professional interests focus on computer graphics education and the use of computing in communication and scientific studies. He is co-author of Programming the User Interface: Principles and Examples (Wiley, 1989, with Judith R. Brown) and co-editor of three books: Visualization in Teaching and Learning Mathematics (Mathematical Association of America, 1991, with Walter Zimmermann), Interactive Learning Through Visualization (Springer- Verlag, 1992, with R. J. Hubbold), and Computer Graphics Using Object-Oriented  Programming (Wiley, 1992, with Nancy Craighill, Martin Fong, and Judith R. Brown).

    Cunningham has served as chair of SIGGRAPH’s Education Committee, as chair of the SIGGRAPH 91 Educators’ Program, and as a member of the Board of Governors of the Mathematical Association of America. He is currently the Director for Publications of ACM SIGGRAPH, where he supervises SIGGRAPH’s publications, including its electronic publishing program.

    Steve Cunningham is professor-of computer science at California State University, Stanislaus and is former chair of the ACM-SIGGRAPH education committee. He has written widely on computer graphics education and on visualization in science and mathematics education. He is particularly interested in how scientific visualization can change undergraduate computer graphics courses. He received his M.S. in computer science from Oregon State University and his Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Oregon.
