Sandeep Singhal

Sandeep Singhal is a Senior Architect in IBM’s Pervasive Computing Division. He is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor on the Graduate faculty at North Carolina State University. He has previously worked on the Research Staff at IBM’s TJ. Watson Research Center. With dozens of publications to his credit, Singhal’s technical interests include Java, network protocol design, and large-scale collaborative and real-time systems. He has served as a program reviewer for a variety of distributed simulation projects for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and Defense Modeling and Simulation Office (DMSO). He has also served on advisory boards defining long-term DARPA research agendas and participated in a National Research Council effort to link military and entertainment applications of simulation technology. Together with Mike Zyda, he is an author of a forthcoming book, Networked Virtual Environments, scheduled for publication in 1999. Sandeep earned his PhD in Computer Science from Stanford University, where he co-developed the PARADISE distributed virtual environment.
