    Roni Yagel is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer and Information Science at The Ohio State University. He received his PhD in 1991 from the State University of New York at Stony Brook where he was also a researcher in the Department of Anatomy and the Department of Physiology and Biophysics. His research and technical publications deal with both hardware and software aspects of volume rendering. His research interests also include algorithms for voxel-based graphics, imaging, and animation, 3D user interfaces, and visualization tools for biomedical applications. Currently he is concentrating in various aspects of surgery simulation systems. Yagel has presented tutorials and courses in CGI ‘91, Electronic Imaging ‘91, Visualization ‘91-’95, Graphics Interface ‘92, SIGGRAPH ‘92,’93, VBC’ 92,‘94, Supercomputing ‘93.

He received his B.Sc. Cum Laude and M.Sc. Cum Laude from the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Ben Gurion University of the Negev, Israel, in 1986 and 1987, respectively. His research interests also include algorithms for voxel-based graphics, imaging, and animation, three dimensional user interfaces, and visualization tools for biomedical applications.
