Title:

    Elliptical weighting for directional enhancement in controlled texture synthesis

Presenter(s)/Author(s):

Abstract:

    Texture synthesis in Computer Graphics is mainly related to the process of reproducing the structure of a sample pattern in larger  arbitrary resolution. In addition to traditional texture synthesis, recent research (e.g. [Kwatra et al. 2005]) has provided algorithms in which textures can be deformed, curved, modified and controlled to follow given directions and orientations. These new techniques can be applied to many applications including scientific visualization and texture animation. In this context, we propose a novel neighborhood specification and weighting scheme to enhance the property of directionality.
