Description:

A traditional cartoon character goes berserk when computer animated characters threaten his job security. This conflict is played out in Technological Threat, a fully animated cartoon short film from Kroyer Films, Inc., of Hollywood, Calif. The film was produced using a unique production process that allows the integration of hand-animated artwork and computer generated artwork. Two of the four characters in the film (as well as all backgrounds) were encoded, animated and rendered as hidden line drawings on an IRIS workstation, then produced as animation art via a graphics plotter. This artwork was colored and photographed, along with the hand-drawn characters, using traditional cartoon production techniques. The film is four minutes 30 seconds in length and contains over thirteen hundred computer generated drawings.
