Ashok Veeraraghavan is an Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Rice University. He focuses on solving hard and challenging problems in imaging and vision by co-designing sensors, optics, electronics, signal processing, and machine  learning algorithms. He received his Ph.D. from the Department of Electrical and Computer  Engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park in 2008. Dr. Veeraraghavan is co- developer of FlatCam, a thin sensor chip with a mask that replaces lenses in a traditional  camera. He is the recipient of the NSF CAREER Award (2017), Hershel M. Rich Invention Award (2017), and MERL Presidents Award (2009).
