Bio
Weidi Zhang is a new media artist, visual designer, researcher, and educator. Her current research and media art practice investigates the possibilities of non-linear narrativity and semantic meanings through intelligent system design and spatial visualization in immersive environments. Her works are featured at different venues internationally, such as SIGGRAPH, Times Art Museum, IEEE VISAP, SwissNex Gallery, and others. Her artwork has been awarded at Japan Media Art Festival and shortlisted for the Lumen Prize. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Media Arts and Technology Program at UC Santa Barbara. She holds her MFA degree in Art+Technology at CalArts.
