Sarah Gibson
Bio:

Sarah Gibson received a B.Eng. in Mathematics and Engineering at Queen’s University, Canada, in 1985, an M.Sc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 1986, and a PhD. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University in 1990. She was a postdoctoral fellow at the Neuman Biomechanics Lab at MIT from 1991- 1992, a member of the research faculty at the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University from 1992-1993, and is currently a Senior Research Scientist at MERL – A Mitsubishi Electric Research Lab. Dr. Gibson’s interests lie in volume graphics and medical applications, in the areas of volume visualization, physics-based modeling, surgical simulation, and image segmentation.
