Mark H. Yim received his Ph.D. from the Mechanical Engineering Department of Stanford University in 1994. His dissertation work involved the construction of a modular reconfigurable robot. Following completion of his degree, Dr. Yim worked as the lead design engineer on the CyberTouchTM vibrotactile feedback system as well as a grasp-force feedback system at Virtual Technologies, Inc. The development of these systems involved pushing the limits of knowledge in the psychophysics of haptic feedback systems as well as dynamic simulation and electro-mechanical design.
