Bio:

    Hansong Zhang is a Member of Technical Staff at Silicon Graphics, Inc., where he currently works on the Fahrenheit Large Model (FLM) project. He is interested in visibility culling, image-based rendering, volume visualization and parallel computing, and has published papers in these areas. Prior to joining SOI, he received a PhD in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1998, for his work on effective occlusion culling algorithms for the interactive display of arbitrary, large-scaled models. He holds an MS in Computer Science from the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a BE in Computer Engineering from Xi’an Jiaotong University. He was the instructor of an elementary computer course at UNC, an invited speaker on OpenGL for the SGI China Users Forum1996 and presented papers at a number of conferences including ACM SIGGRAPH.
