Abstract:

We have developed an innovative approach to creating three dimensional transitions between two dimensional images. We wanted to investigate a method for moving through a three- dimensional space that could not be achieved using a real camera. The aim of this investigation was to find a method of creating moving images on computer that did not comply with the established rules of camera based cinema, but instead attempt to create new linguistic elements for communication in a relatively new field. The results we have produced represent an innovative approach to creating three dimensional transitions between two dimensional images. These transitions are presented in the form of a short animation entitled “Twisted City”.
