Abstract:
This work provides the first systematic overview of tattooing as a computational fabrication technique. We built an automated tattooing rig, a recipe for silicone sheets that mimic realistic skin tones, and an accurate model predicting tattoo appearance. This enables several applications including tattoo previewing, ink optimization, color-accurate prosthetics, and more.
