    Riding the Virtual New Wave: How to Utilize Virtual Production for Inclusive Cinematic Storytelling

Presenter(s)/Author(s):

Abstract:

    Virtual Production is changing the game for the film industry. Now more than ever do filmmakers have the tools to realize their stories with fewer necessities. This opens up questions about what these tools could mean for making more equitable cinematic collaborations. It also raises concerns about their potential to expedite the dissolution of age-old biases. This presentation provides an overview of new production concepts and suggests ways we can use these tools responsibly to reduce the risk of cultural appropriation or implicit bias. Together we can tell more inclusive stories and set a standard for the Virtual New Wave.
