    Cyberarium Knowledge Fountain

Presenter(s):

Description:

    Cyberarium knowledge fountain is a opportunity:

    • To demonstrate socially responsible applications of communication technology
    • To provide a social exchange at which multiple communities can explore unconventional applications of advanced technological concepts
    • To identify key areas where information technologies can be effectively applied to improve quality of life
    • To encourage young minds to explore science and think about how to make the world a better place

    It is not enough to just refine current methods of education; instead, we must reach out with all our insight and an open mind and begin to develop new methods of thinking, learning, exploring and growing which will serve as the basis of intelligent migration into this new and exciting future. We must be proactive and make a conscious effort to act in ways which will allow us to reach the most potential offered by this inevitable progression into a new century and a new world. By developing/orchestrating a compassionate and pro-social basis for exploring and sharing knowledge about the impact of technology we can create an environment for intelligently cultivating an awareness of the processes which will shape the nature of the future. It becomes our obligation as leaders in the revolution of thought and process that we take steps to ensure that we have given our future generations the best possible opportunity to reach the highest levels of their true potential. We must overcome the natural fear of the unknown and move forward with determination and compassion as the future generations will indeed be strongly affected by what we do in these early phases of the information culture.

    As we live in an information age, our lives are continually influenced by new applications of communication technology. Informatic systems impact society at all levels, from personal and interpersonal dynamics, to global systems of immense complexity. The future needs of the info-culture can be anticipated, thus environments must be created and processes need be initiated which will aid in a smooth and intelligent transition into the future. We must reach out with all our insight and an open mind and begin to develop new methods of thinking, learning, exploring and growing which will serve as the basis of intelligent migration into this new and exciting future.

    The Cyberarium Knowledge Fountain is an innovative, integrative and interactive platform which will stimulate discovery and exploration of creative and socially enriching interactive techniques through intelligence engaging, imagination inducing hands-on experiences with novel human-computer interaction devices.

    The knowledge fountain is a portable, self-contained, easily deployed workstation configurable for use as a rapid prototyping system for new human-computer interfaces. Using various sensors, interface boxes, and data-flow networking software, the knowledge fountain allows for rapid development of new ways to get information from the physical environment to the communication system. NeatViz software enhances the system by providing new ways to perceptualize complex data streams and information systems. Knowledge fountain is being used in schools and cyber camps as a tool for teaching kids about information systems.
