Description:
“Fighting Infection by Clonal Selection” is a world-first in visualising the immune system and illustrates, in a vivid 3D environment, how the body combats infection. Created to commemorate the 50th anniversary of a revolutionary theory called “clonal selection” byNobel Laureate Sir Frank Macfarlane Burnet, the animation is founded on scientific research. The visualisation takes place inside the human body during a bacterial invasion, transporting the viewer to different parts of the immune system and showing how each contributes to the battle against infection. The animation was designed to raise understanding of the immune system in the general public, and as a teaching resource for university students, scientists, and their peers.
