Bio:

• Yuko Oda is an artist, and she teaches in the Digital Art and Design Department at the New York Institute of Technology. Her current research includes creating interactive explosions using 3D visualization techniques and illustrating them with pen and paper.

  Oda received her MFA from Rhode Island School of Design and BA from Duke University. She was an art resident at Byrdcliffe Artist Residency (2015), Goetteman Artist Residency (2015), Chashama North Residency (2010), the Vermont Studio Center (2008), and at the School of Visual Arts Painting Residency (1999).

  Her work was a finalist for the animation competition Artport: The World Affected By Global Warming, and her 3D animations, game installations, sculptures, and drawings have been exhibited at the Dumbo Arts Festival (NY), Calvin-Morris Gallery (NY), Chelsea Museum (NY), Lumenhouse Art Space (NY), Beijing Today Art Museum (Beijing), Gallery Aferro (NJ), 3RD WARD (NY), Spaces Gallery (PA), Annmarie Sculpture Center (MD), the Artist Network Gallery (NY), Art Supermarket (Stockholm), Art Basel Miami Beach, Bridge Art Fair (New York), and the Diva Art Fair (Paris). Her recent exhibitions include E-forms at the Beijing Today Art Museum, Shift: Remix at Gallery Aferro (New Jersey), Volume at 3RD WARD (New York), and Stranger than Fiction at Artist Network Gallery (New York). Her artwork is archived in the Viewing Program at the Drawing Center, as well as the Nurture Art Artist Registry. Oda obtained her MFA from Rhode Island School of Design and BA from Duke University.
