John C. Beatty is an associate professor in the Department of Computer Science and a member of the computer graphics laboratory at the University of Waterloo. He has a B.A. in mathematics from Princeton University and a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of California at Berkeley. His interests include the modeling of freeform curves and surfaces using polynomial splines, interaction methodologies, color perception and the psychophysics of vision, documentation graphics and formal language theory.
