Bio:
Basak Senova is a curator and designer based in Istanbul. She studied literature and graphic design (MFA in graphic design and PhD in art, design, and architecture at Bilkent University) and attended the 7’h Curatorial Training Programme of Stichting De Appel, Amsterdam. She has been writing on art, technology, and media, initiating and developing projects and curating exhibitions since 1995. She is the editor of art-isl 6, Kontrol, Lapses Book Series, UNCOVERED and various other books. She is one of the founding members of NOMAD, as well as the organizer of ctrl_ alt_del and Upgrade!lstanbul. She was the curator of the Pavilion of Turkey at the 53,d Venice Biennale (2009). She has lectured at the Faculty of Communication, Kadir Has University, Istanbul (2006-2010). Currently, she co-curates the UNCOVERED project in Cyprus and works as a curator of the Zorlu Center Collection.
