    Prerequisites
    Intermediate to advanced experience with the Java programming environment and the Java 1.1 and Java 2 core APIs. No direct experience with the Java Media APIs is required. The course assumes familiarity with the fundamentals of 2D and 3D graphics and streaming multimedia.

    Overview of the Java platform, introduction to the Java Media APIs, Java 2D, Java Media Framework, Java 3D, Java Advanced Imaging, and related resources.

    Description
    Java is widely espoused as a versatile programming language and runtime environment that provides cross-platform portability, a relatively secure environment, and strong networking and connectivity APIs. This course discussed all of the Java Media APIs (java.sun.com/products/java-media/) and focused on Java 2D, JMF, Java 3D, and Java Advanced Imaging. It also explored related Java APIs, such as OpenGL-to-Java bindings.
