    Frontiers Workshop: Beyond IRL, How 3D Interactive Social Media is Changing How We Interact, Express, and Think

Presenter(s)/Author(s):

Abstract:

    The world is rapidly changing and younger generations are growing up with incredible exposure to immersive virtual environments. As we endeavor to take on understanding how the Metaverse will change how we interact, express, and think, we must ask not only how behavior might be meaningfully different but also how we might work to create environments and experiences that encourage and support unique self expression, positive community engagement and create space for learning and growth.

    This panel’s goal is to understand how virtual environments can shape prosocial attitudes, support identity exploration and help establish healthy boundaries that extend to IRL.
