Abstract:

    Who should attend?

This course is appropriate for anyone interested in CAD, but should be especially useful for decision makers, managers and potential users in such application fields as mechanical part and assembly design, process piping, architectural engineering, plant layout, mapping and exploration and electronic circuit and component design.

    Recommended background

Experience in and/or responsibility for drafting and design are desirable. Experience in computer graphics or computing is not a prerequisite.

    Course description

This course will consist of exhibitor/ vendor presentations on computer-aided design/drafting (CAD), computer-aided engineering (CAE) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) commercial systems. CAD exhibitors/vendors will present technical descriptions of systems they supply and discuss their capabilities. Question and answer periods will be included to encourage interaction between the lecturers and attendees. This forum will be excellent preparation for those intending to view CAD/CAM/CAE systems during the SIGGRAPH ’84 exhibition.
