    Recent developments in VLSI graphic devices are bringing sophisticated graphics techniques to more affordable levels. Functionality and performance once found only in high-end systems are being made available to lower cost desktop implementations. These VLSI devices have become system level designs that require a high level of architectural understanding.
    This panel session provides the hardware and software designers with a comparison of these VLSI offerings, clearly pointing out the architectural philosophies and trade-offs associated with specific implementations.
