Artist Statement:
Hyborg Agency is an interactive art installation that features an immersive online forest and a Discord channel (online communication platform). The two are interconnected, allowing people to communicate with fictional AI deer: “Hyborgs”. It uses GPT-3 to extract and summarize conversations in the community. With each passing day, Hyborgs gather the collective thoughts of the community as the soil, using this wealth of information as nutrition to enrich knowledge. With the human society as a metaphor for the natural environment where large language models grow, this work probes into a speculative future that non-human AI agents naturally became social members.
