J. Bruce Howie is a staff systems engineer with Lockheed Martin Information Systems in Orlando, FL. He received a BS degree in Physics at the University of Texas at Arlington in 1981 with some graduate work. In 1983 he joined Rediffussion Simulation as a Visual Database Engineer where he developed real-time databases for flight and maritime applications. In 1995 he joined General Electric Aerospace (now Lockheed Martin Information Systems). Since 1995 he has been involved in the production of real time databases, the education of real time database generation to internal and external customers and most recently the systems engineer responsible for the CompuScene TARGET database generation software. He is also the project engineer responsible for the LMIS SEDRIS (Synthetic Environment Data Representation and Interchange Specification) effort with DARPA, DMSO, and STRICOM. He has co-authored 17 papers in physics while at university and 2 in visual simulation professionally. The most recent paper given at the Fall 1997 Simulation Interoperability Workshop.
