Abstract:

The High Performance Computing and Communications (HPCC) federal initiative, OS well OS private sector initiatives in the telecommunications industry, are creating an entirely new environment for visualization and graphics. HDTV, video-on-demand, multimedia services, video teleconferencing, visual tale-science, and remote control of supercomputers will be widely available with the federally-supported Notional Research and Education Network (NREN) and with advanced network services in the private sector. The panel brings together visionaries who point to the picture of the opportunities these changes are bringing to visualization and graphics professionals.
