    Prerequisites
    An understanding of HTML and XML.

    Topics
    SVG: Vector graphics vs. raster and bitmapped graphics, players, basic documents, coordinate systems, basic shapes and text, templates, groups, paths, painting, basic interactivity. SMIL: syntax (basic document structure and layout), media object elements, synchroniztion, SMIL 2.0 modules, transition effects. Advanced SVG: interactivity, advanced scripting and event handling, hyperlinking, animation.

    Description
    Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) and the Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language (SMIL) are XML-based open standards for representing interactive graphical documents. This course teaches attendees how to author presentations in both SVG and SMIL.
