Abstract:
What is the appeal of facial caricatures? The authors believe that it is not just geometrical exaggeration, but the uniqueness of artist’s impression of the target face. This paper proposes a novel system that can draw facial caricatures interactively reflecting the user’s impression. The proposed system adopts the interactive genetic algorithm (IGA), and is called “NIGAO” that is a Japanese word meaning a facial caricature.
