Abstract:

    Prerequisites
This course is self-contained and does not assume prior knowledge of large-area displays. Familiarity with and prior exposure to large-area displays is helpful. However, a basic understanding of some mathematics, such as linear algebra, is sufficient to understand the presented material.

    Topics
Geometric registration for both planar and non-planar display surfaces. Photometric seamlessness. Image generation via PC-cluster rendering. Integration of registration techniques into PC-cluster rendering.

    Description
This introduction to building large-area multi-projector displays presents recent solutions to two of the most fundamental challenges in deployment of large-scale multi-projector displays: geometric and photometric registration for seamless imagery and image generation for these displays using low-cost, PC-cluster technology.
