Abstract:
We investigate the consequences of inaccurate or missing hand and finger motions for virtual characters that can occur in VR environments. We present the results of three perceptual experiments where participants guess charades with hand motions of different quality to evaluate comprehension, character perception, social presence, and user comfort.
