Abstract:

We simulate the evolution of glaciers and their attendant erosive effects on terrains over several glacial cycles. We combine a learning-based estimation of ice flow, a multi-scale advection scheme, and finer-scale erosive phenomena to model the formation of glacial features such as U-shaped and hanging valleys, fjords, and glacial lakes.
