Description:

This project provides o production scientific visualization environment for analysts at Sandia to visualize and animate the results of finite element and finite difference calculations from supercomputers and massively parallel machines. The resulting databases con be large (several gigabytes), so adaptive meshing and high-speed access ore essential for reasonable response times.

A visualization server concept is used where one or several high-powered graphics machines are used to perform the graphics manipulations, with the resulting images transmitted to a display on an analyst’s desk. AVS is used as the foundation for the visualization software.
