Description:
This project exhibits real-time interaction with knotted spheres (knotted two-manifolds embedded in 4D space). A typical approach to visualizing such a surface is to project it into 3D and view it with 3D lighting, but this omits nearly all of the interesting 4D information about the structure. Instead, this system uses a fast approximation to volume-rendering volume images of projects 4D objects with true 4D lighting and occlusion.
