- Pens to Lens
Description:
Pens to Lens is a screenwriting competition and filmmaking festival in East Central Illinois. Local teachers are provided with a screenwriting curriculum, and their K-12 students are invited to submit screenplays. Community filmmakers choose screenplays they want to produce into actual movies, and local designers create original movie posters. At the end of the year- long cycle, an awards and screening gala brings everyone back together to celebrate the work of local artists of all ages. Pens to Lens is an original program presented by the Champaign-Urbana Film Society to bring practical filmmaking education to East Central Illinois.
