Description:

This video presents the system described in the SIGGRAPH 2001 paper by the same name. Ir uses the trad1t10nal tools of a painter to capture the sight, touch, and feeling of the artistic painting. This allows anyone to control a virtual brush as if it were a real brush. To achieve this, we have designed a physically based, deformable, 3D brush model and bi-directional, two-layer paint model, which allow the user to intuitively produce complex brush strokes. The haptic feedback enhances the sense of realism and provides critical tactile cues.
