Bio
SIGGRAPH 2025
Ken Museth is senior director of High-Fidelity Physics Research at NVIDIA. Previously, he was Head of R&D at Weta, working on Avatar2. He is the creator of VDB and chair of OpenVDB’s Technical Steering Committee. Additionally, Ken worked six years for SpaceX on CFD simulations of the Raptor rocket engine. Before joining Weta in 2017, he worked for a decade at DreamWorks Animation and Digital Domain, and prior to that for a decade as respectively a researcher and full professor at Caltech and Linkoping University. He holds a PhD from Copenhagen University and was awarded two Academy Awards for OpenVDB.
