Jason Lawrence is an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Department at the University of Virginia. He holds a Ph.D. in computer science from Princeton University. Jason?s principal research interests focus on the acquisition and efficient representation of? real-world material appearance. He recently introduced an ?Inverse Shade Trees? frame- work for representing measured surface reflectance through a hierarchical decomposition? designed for efficient rendering and editing.??
