Pixar Showplace is unique Macintosh software that lets you create realistic 3D scenes without being an expert in modeling or rendering. Pixar Typestry 2.0 is exciting software that turns your Type I and TrueType fonts and Illustrator files into extraordinary 3D images. You work in an easy, familiar 2D space, but you get amazing 3D results. Pixar One Twenty Eight is Pixar’s private collection of 128 unique, high-quality, photographic textures on CD-ROM.

    Pixar introduces our new font manipulation application, Typestry. Typestry turns Type 1 and TrueType fonts into 3D images. Features include a complete selection of preset lighting and special effects such as motion blur, patterns, shadows, embosses, and cut-outs. Typestry also features simple, snappy animation of both characters and words, and includes PhotoRealistic RenderMan magic to transform a simple word into on extraordinary picture.

    SIGGRAPH 1990

    Pixar debuts RenderMan applications for end-users who wish to create impressive 30 pictures; Finishing Touch, for high-impact image detailing by moving lights, objects and applying appearances; Appearance Fonts; a library of surfaces; and Clip Objects, photorealistic objects for image enhancement. These products are complimented by Pixar’s MacRenderMan powerful rendering software which produces photorealistic images.

    Pixar will be debuting a product line in photorealistic image synthesis, products which use Pixar’s recently introduced RenderMan™ Interface. In addition, the low-priced Pixar II image computer will be demonstrating a variety of applications, including volumetric rendering and remote sensing analysis.

Featuring a large picture memory integrated with a high-speed, programmable processor, the Pixar Image Computer can provide new techniques for visualizing 2-D and 3-D images for their target markets—remote sensing and mapping, design and animation, scientific visualization, medical imaging, graphic arts and seismic imaging.

    Pixar™ is featuring the Pixar Image Computer™, the first general-purpose computer that combines the generality required for computer graphics with the speed required for image processing.
