Hewlett-Packard’s innovative products and technologies for the computer graphics market provide speed and realism based on industry standards. HP displays a wide range of new workstations, peripherals and software targeted at ME-CAD, image processing, GIS design concept, and animation users. SIGGRAPH is the debut of the HP Apollo 9000 Series 400 workstations and VRX graphics systems.

    SIGGRAPH 1989

Apollo Computer presents a family of powerful personal workstations. With more than 2000 applications available today, the Apollo environment helps workgroups communicate and respond instantly to ideas and changes that occur daily throughout an organization. Come see Apollo’s new graphics workstation and its new low-cost workstation that combines functionality and power.

    SIGGRAPH 1988

Apollo’s systems and networks are used for computer aided engineering, design and manufacturing, as well as for electronic publishing, software development, Al Research and application development, architectural engineering, personal computing, financial analysis, mainframe technical processing and a host of other commercial and technical applications.

    SIGGRAPH 1987

Apollo will demonstrate its new generation of DOMAIN workstations and DOMAIN Graphics Resources, a comprehensive toolkit for applications developers. Highlighted will be an industry leader for low-end color graphics, the Series 3000 Personal Workstation, and the new DN590 Turbo 3-D solids and imaging workstation, the highest-performance graphics workstation in Apollo’s history.

    SIGGRAPH 1986

Apollo will demonstrate its new generation of DOMAIN workstations and DOMAIN Graphics Resources, the most comprehensive toolkit available for applications developers. Highlighted will be the industry’s price/performance leader for low-end color graphics, the Series 3000 Personal Workstation, with real-time 3-D color graphics, and the DN580, that implements the emerging PHIGS standard in hardware.

    SIGGRAPH 1985

Apollo Computer Inc. will feature new graphics and communications products as well as a network of its DOMAIN workstations at SIGGRAPH. Apollo’s concept of dedicated computers with extensive data sharing capabilities has set the standard in the technical marketplace. The family of DOMAIN workstations-distinguished by their dedicated power, high-resolution graphics and network integration, include the low-cost DN300 and DN320; the DN550, Apollo’s lowest-cost, color model; the high-end DN460, and the top-of-the-line DN660 system. More than 300 third-party application packages operate on DOMAIN systems.

    SIGGRAPH 1984

Apollo will be showing its full range of compatible, high-performance workstations, including the recently announced DN550, which combines a 68010 with a dedicated bit-slice graphics processor in a compact, under-desk enclosure. Apollo’s high performance color DN660 and B&W DN460 both have a full 32-bit bit-slice processor, and offer dedicated performance in the range of a VAX/780, for under $40K. Apollo will also be demonstrating a new graphics software tool called Graphics Metafile Resource (GMR). Aimed at boosting graphics performance while making it easier for the application programmer to create interactive graphics applications, GMR combines the concepts employed by the emerging PHIGS standard with an editable graphics file storage mechanism called a Graphics Metafile.

    SIGGRAPH 1983

Apollo Computer, Inc. will exhibit its DOMAIN processing systems — the DN300 Desktop Mainframe, DN420 computational node, and DN600 color computational node — dedicated 32-bit general purpose computers connected in a high-speed local area network which provides transparent access to data, resources and programs through a network-wide virtual memory operating system. Apollo systems are currently used in applications such as computer-aided design (CAD), engineering (CAE) and software engineering (CASE), and computer science research and scientific problem solving.

    SIGGRAPH 1979

HP has developed a broad range of graphics capabilities. For business, HP has developed a graphics workstation around the 2647 Intelligent Graphics Terminal. With a few keystrokes, tabular data can be plotted as a bar graph, a pie chart, or a linear or logarithmic line graph, and hard copy can be generated in several forms, including multicolor overhead transparencies. For engineering and science, both the 2647 Intelligent Graphics Terminal and the 9845 Desktop Computer provide interactive capability while the HP1000 Computer System and GRAPHICS/1000 software provide multi-user, multi-language graphics capability. Closely associated with the computational capabilities of these devices is a common high-level graphics language called AGL that supports a wide variety of graphics applications. Easily interfaced graphics peripherals include flatbed plotters, a digitizer, ·graphics printers and a plotter/printer capable of producing graphs up to 16 feet long.
