Bio

SIGGRAPH 2000

Ivan Poupyrev is a Researcher at the Media Integration and Communication Research Laboratories at the ATR International in Kyoto. He spent two years at the Human Interface Technology Laboratory at the University of Washington as a Visiting Scientist doing research on 3D user interfaces. His basic research interests are in designing and investigating advanced interfaces between humans and machines, including 30 interfaces, virtual environments, ubiquitous and wearable interfaces. Some of the results of his work has been presented in conferences such as ACM SIGGRAPH, EUROGRAPHICS, VRAIS and others. He received M. S. in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from Moscow Airspace University, Russia and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Hiroshima University, Japan.
