About Ricardo (Rick) Avila

Bio

SIGGRAPH 1999

Rick Avila is a Graphics Scientist in the Electronic Systems Laboratory at General EIectrics Corporate Research and Development Center in Schenectady, New York. His current research interests include computer graphics, scientific visualization, volume rendering, virtual environments, and object-oriented software development. He formerly worked at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute applying visualization research toward neurobiology. He received a BS and MS in Computer Science from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1989 and 1992, respectively.
