Steve Agland has worked in lighting and rendering technology for animated feature films and VFX for over 20 years at Animal Logic, now Netflix Animation Studios, where he has lead the Lighting TD team there for most of this time. He has special interests in pathtraced rendering, feature film shading, image processing, artist tool design and automation. His credits include Happy Feet, Walking with Dinosaurs 3D, The Lego Movie franchise, Peter Rabbit, The Magician’s Elephant and Leo.

Steve Agland is the Supervising TD for Production Technology Lighting at Animal Logic, where he has worked for 20 years. He joined the industry as a shader writer and lighting artist on Happy Feet. He has since led the lighting technology team on projects such as The Lego Movie franchise and the Peter Rabbit films, working closely with lighting supervisors and in-house renderer developers. He has a particular interests in rendering technology, live-action/CG integration, color management, image processing and, of course, the design and development of lighting and rendering workflows in feature animation.
