SIGGRAPH 1994

Hans-Peter Meinzer heads a research team at the German Cancer Research Center in Heidelberg, Germany, focusing on 3D Visualization. He is an associate professor of medical computer science at the University of Heidelberg. The team in Heidelberg developed a surface free volume renderer that produces realistic shadows. He is currently changing focus to image understanding, classification, and object segmentation using medical volume data from CT and MRI. He received his M.Sc. (physics) from the University of Karlsruhe and his Ph.D. (medical computer science) from the University of Heidelberg.
