Title:

Textured drawing strokes using polygonized paper surface illumination

Abstract:

In the present study, we propose a method for generating the effects of any type of paper feature on drawing strokes by using 3D  polygonal paper models. Based on the consideration of Murakami et al. [2005], the brightness on the paper illuminated from slanted directions is used for pigment deposition. In this improved method, the brightness of each polygon is estimated by an ordinal diffuse calculation. Moreover, this method generates the height field simultaneously that support controlling pigment deposition according to the various paper properties.
