    SIGGRAPH 1998

Ampex Corporation is one of the world’s leading innovators in the field of magnetic recording, image processing, and high-performance digital storage for the visual information age.

    SIGGRAPH 1997

Ampex offers a full line of data storage products. With a sustained data transfer rate of 15MB/sec, data capacity of 330GB on a single cartridge, and linear file search of 1600MB/sec, the DST product family is the high-performance choice for graphic-intense storage applications.

    SIGGRAPH 1995

DST data storage products provide disk- like speed and accessibility with capacities associated with tape. DST drives and libraries offer transfer rates of 15MB/sec, search speeds of 800MB/sec, and support cartridges of up to 165GB capacities.

    SIGGRAPH 1994

Ampex is introducing a series of new products under its industry-leading DST mass storage line. The DST 310 tape drive stores up to 165GB on a single tape and transfers data at 15MB/sec over a SCSI-2 interface. The drives employ the same DD-2 format used in Ampex’s first generation DST products. The DST 810 library stores 6.4TB in only 21 sq. ft. of floor space. Any file can be accessed within 30 seconds.

    SIGGRAPH 1992

Ampex presents DST (Data Storage Technology) mass storage products for high-performance computing. The DST 600 drive stores up to 165 GB per cartridge at 15 MB/sec. The DST 800 library puts 6.4 terabytes of data on-line. It holds 2 – 4 DST 600 drives up to 256 cartridges, and occupies only 21 square feet of floor space.

    SIGGRAPH 1991

Ampex presents the TeraAccess automated cassette library: tape-based data storage for the supercomputing industry. The TeraAccess puts 6.4 terabytes of data on line, holds up to 4 TeraStore recorders, 256 D-2 cassettes, and occupies only 21 square feet of floor space. The TeraStore’s tape capacity is 125 times greater than current technologies.

    SIGGRAPH 1987

Ampex will feature video graphics and effect systems designed to communicate via the CCIR- 601 Digital network standard. Included are the AVA-3, video art system; ADO, digital effects system; and ESS-3, graphic composition/storage system.

    SIGGRAPH 1986

Ampex will feature creative graphics center demonstrating Ampex PictureMaker™, 3-D modeling, an animation system and an AVA-3 video art system.
