Bio:

    I am an associate professor in the Department of Computational Media at UC Santa Cruz, where I direct the Creative Coding Lab, collaborating with a team of creative researchers to explore topics in data visualization, computer graphics, and human-computer interaction, I have a Ph.D. in media arts and technology and an M.S. in computer science, both from the University of California, Santa Barbara, I was the SIGGRAPH 2018 Art Papers Chair, and I am looking forward to working with the team again this year in my role as the SIGGRAPH 2021 Art Gallery Chair.

    SIGGRAPH 2017

    Angus Forbes leads the Creative Coding Research Group at
    the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is an Assistant Professor
    in the Electronic Visualization Lab within the Department of
    Computer Science and also has a courtesy appointment in the
    School of Art and Art History. Forbes’s research investigates
    multidisciplinary topics related to the fields of information
    visualization, computer graphics, and human-computer
    interaction; his artwork, performances, and multimedia
    installations have been shown throughout the world
